How SVN Works

Submit
A credentialed contributor submits original video footage along with full metadata: timestamp, location, device info, and source context. Anonymous submissions are not accepted.
Verify
SVN's verification framework is designed to run AI-assisted checks in parallel — deepfake screening, metadata forensics, visual consistency analysis, geolocation cross-reference, and source corroboration. Some modules are live in beta; others — including full provenance scoring and on-chain anchoring — are roadmap features. Every signal is surfaced to a senior editor for human review.
Publish
A senior SVN editor makes the final call. If the video passes editorial review, it publishes with the SVN verification record visible. If it fails, it doesn't go live — no exceptions. Editorial judgment is always the deciding signal, not automated scores.

SVN's founders — journalists and technologists — set out to build the infrastructure that should have existed from the beginning: a pipeline that makes verification as fast as publication, and a network that gives credentialed reporters a real home. We are not here to replace breaking news. We are here to make sure that when breaking news reaches you, it has been checked. SVN is still early — and intentionally so.
